Rio carnival

We have been making shakers for the carnival on Friday.

In RE we were learning about God The Holy Spirit. To remind us that the disciples heard a wind around them and flames appeared above  their heads to remind them of Gods powers, we did some blow painting using fire colours.
It was harder than it looked. Just as well there are only a few candles on the cakes at the moment.
We are now going to write special words to remind us of what the Holy Spirit is trying to teach us.

Rowdey cow

Mrs Dix asked me to remind you that the children need their money for ice-creams for Thursday. I believe it was £1.30. Please bring in a named envelope.

Late post

Weather is looking gloomy for reception sports. Please make sure you send rain coats and I would suggest school uniform in a bag to change into if cold or wet.

Rio week

Fingers crossed that we will be experiencing dry weather for the start of Rio week. What an exciting week it will be. It has been an exceptionally difficult week to organise with such a variety of  sporting events at different venues. As much as I have been involved in planning for tomorrow and attended different meetings, I would just like to say thank you to the area heads including our acting head Mrs Fox and all the office staff for doing the main organising. I know it has been very busy. I am really looking forward to the carnival on Friday.

Don't forget to send children in their PE kits with trainers or daps. Children must be able to tie laces as we don't have time to do them. Please provide coat as well. Unless you ordered sandwiches from Laura by Friday don't forget to pack a lunch and water.  I will be blogging the activities.

As you will have read most children started guided/ group reading and loved it. They can't wait for the next session. Books will be changed a normal whilst I am hearing group reading as long as there is a comment saying that the children have read at home.

Thank you.

Another exciting sport

Cygnus class were introduced to tae kwon-do  this morning and we have many sporting superstars.
Yesterday we had lots of fun.  We drew our learning partners.
Gosh there seems to have been a long holiday between starting this blog and picking it back up.
Today we are having some sports coaching from Up and Under. We are developing our athletics skills.
 A
A good old fashioned game of stuck in the mud.

A game of The Hungry Hippo. We have all enjoyed this as a table top activity but now we did it as a real team.
Wow Primrose I am so impressed with your exceeding  physical development expectations in being able to tie laces. Well done.
A reminder that we are all going to a reception sports day on Monday. Everyone needs PE kits and daps or trainers. Permission slips need returning.
Finding big spiders and someone said scorpions!

Please look out for Rio information.
