Nativity

Hello, just a reminder that costumes for the play need to be in on Monday 30th November in named carrier bags. Everyone was handed a letter about costumes and timings and they should be in book bags. For those who weren't here please can w have costumes on Tuesday or Wednesday in case you haven't prepped them yet. 

We had a special cake stirring assembly with Mrs Aldridge. She was making one big Christmas cake and the children all had a stir so they could make a special wish.

Mrs Dix took the children on a welly walk.

We are so lucky to have Mrs Dix helping us on a Thursday afternoon. The children love her. 

Scarlet was star of the week for her French.

Zachary was chosen because of the amazing learning and increased confidence. Thank you to his mum and dad for all the support.

We all achieved our bronze certificates. Well done.

It was Sebastian's birthday.

Rosie also celebrated her birthday on the same day.

It is a really busy time in school and routines change daily. Please ensure you continue to read on a regular basis and visit all of the phase 2 phonics on the websites I have given you. If you haven't yet looked at the handwriting website this would be a good one and lots of parents have been saying positive things about it. 

For the parents who came to the phonics workshop, my apologies for not sending out the resources yet. I will try and do so tomorrow.

Tuesday starter activity may finish earlier as we have rehearsals. I will send an e- mail home tomorrow if this is the case.

Costumes for the play

Hello, we are very busy rehearsing for the Nativity. Normal timetable has been collapsed although we will be continuing with daily phonics and number. We will continue to change books for those children who read at home but reading will happen between rehearsals and for the next two weeks we will try our best to ensure everyone reads on a weekly basis. 

Please can all costumes be brought into school by Monday 30th November as we will need them for dress rehearsal next week. Everyone was given a letter but I appreciate not every parent may have received one. Please let me know if not. Costumes need to be in a named carrier bag.

Elysia brought in a gymnastics badge to share with the class. She was able to tell us what she had to do to earn it. Well done.

An exciting week.

Another busy week. Thank you to the parents ( and children ) who came to the phonics evening. It was lovely to see you all. I have some resources to send out next week. I will try and rerun this session at some stage. Parents have asked for a workshop on writing and numeracy as well. 

The children are really trying to think of sounds that can be used in their writing. Most are using initial sounds, many end sounds and a few are using middle sounds as well. Mrs Fox loves seeing the development and was thrilled to receive letters from our post office. We thought about the recipe for a good friend after visiting the Witches house in The Jolly Postman. The children included words like kind, happy, playful, lovely amongst others. In numeracy we have continued with number ordering, adding two sets of objects and developing the language of weight. As we were concerned for the Jolly Postman in this rainy weather, we investigated waterproof materials and sorted them into waterproof and not waterproof piles before deciding what we would like our jacket to be made out of. 

We continue to rehearse for the school play. If your child has a speaking part please try and learn the lines. If they have a script, please bring it into school each day. 

Happy 5th birthday Emily. You are going to have a super party tomorrow.
